C'mon by, tonight. give a call. 410-467-3727 or cell: 410-375-5803.
Thursday, February 2, 2006
My how times flies! It's been years since I've hosted a house concert, but I've got an exciting one to report!
Thursday, February 2, at 7:45 pm
Eric Schwartz, Live!
See http://www.ericschwartz.com
The first 25 RSVPS will be lucky enough to catch Eric's unique blend of musical and comedic talent.
"The only bad thing about an Eric Schwartz show is that it ends. I wish I could install him in my living room and insert a quarter in his ear to get my daily fix."
-Inside New YorkYeah, he does a mix, including some fairly bawdy stuff, sometimes; If you're looking to get a sense of that, check out his video: http://www.atomfilms.com/af/content/jesus_off (This will not suit all tastes, but, oddly enough, it suits mine, makes me laugh outloud.)
As usual, concerts and food go together. I'll precede the concert with an optional potluck dinner at 6 pm. You can pick something up at Nearby Giant (on 33rd East of Greenmount) if preparing food on a Thursday night is out of your realm. I prefer reasonably healthy cuisine....You're welcome, but you don't have to join us for dinner to attend the 7:45 concert and enjoy Eric's musical/comical talent.
Folks who want to stay after the concert can jam for a while; I turn into a pumpkin at 11 pm.
Please RSVP by phone or email. I can fit 25 people.

"Richard Berman is a gem. His thoughtful, poetic songs reflect from depths few writers can attain." - Tom Kimmel
Born in Brooklyn, New York, Richard Berman left the city to go to college in Ann Arbor, Michigan. He has lived with his wife in Amherst, Massachusetts for the past twenty-two years and has two children. Richard received an MSW and worked as a therapist for years with children and families. He has also taught as a classroom teacher in the Amherst public schools. Drawing on his experiences as a husband, therapist, teacher, father and son, he has written songs that impart his understandings of people and their situations in direct and compelling ways. Richard received national recognition in folk circles for his work by winning the 1992 Napa Valley Folk Festival's Emerging Songwriters Contest. He was selected to take part in the Troubadour contest for singer/ songwriters at the 1994 Telluride Blue Grass Festival in Colorado and won the 1995 South Florida Folk Festival's songwriting contest. He was also chosen to showcase at the 1997 Falcon Ridge Folk Festival. http://www.richardberman.net/
